Michigan State’s biggest strength is their rebounding, but the Vols are very tough in the paint to counter it.  Using the relentless defense he learned as a Big Ten assistant, head coach Bruce Pearl has turned the Volunteers into one of the Southeastern Conference’s elite. Tennessee’s 28 victories are the second-most in school history, and they include regular-season upsets of Kansas and Kentucky, the two teams that were favored to win the national title coming into the tournament.  Michigan State has been fortunate to get by without Kalin Lucas and with Chris Allen banged up, but they won’t be so furtunate Sunday.  Tennessee outrebounded Ohio State 41-29 last game which proved to be the difference in that contest.  Michigan State last played Ohio State at home, losing 67-74 and getting outrebounded 41-38 in the process.  The Vols don’t get as much credit as they deserve for their inside play where Wayne Chism and Brian Williams have been absolutely dominant.  Williams scored 9 points and grabbed 12 boards against the Buckeyes, while Chism put up 22 points and 11 rebounds against Ohio State.  These two will carry the bulk of the load again Sunday.  The Volunteers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games.  The Spartans are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.  Take Tennessee and lay the points.
